The Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) today launched a joint initiative to uplift the lives of cotton farmers, tiny and marginal ones, by promoting awareness and implementation of Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work (FPRW).
The launch event occurred at Magnolia Hall, Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
The project will focus on five districts in Madhya Pradesh, a key organic and Extra-Long Staple (ELS) cotton farming region. It aims to enhance knowledge sharing, provide technical support for policy implementation, improve access to social protection schemes, and empower vulnerable families engaged in cotton cultivation.
In addition to the project launch, a booklet highlighting various government schemes designed to empower farmers was unveiled.
